MISSION STATEMENT

China Ministries International is an international mission organization composed of Christians who are committed to the fullfilment of the Threefold Visions for the Evangelization of China, the Strengthening of the Chinese Church, and the Christianization of Chinese Culture by engaging in ministries of research, training of workers, and sending them to the harvest field. We do all these to the glory of God, under the Lordship of Christ, and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

THREEFOLD VISIONS

1. EVANGELIZATION OF CHINA
As we look upon the world, one person out of five is a Chinese. As we look at the harvest field, one out of three among the unreached people os a Chinese. It is undeniable that China is the greatest harvest field in the world today.

In the past fifty years, God has done a mighty work in China. The number of Christians has multiplied from less than 1 million (1949) to over 60~80 million (1996). After the June 4th Massacre in 1989, a "Christianity fever" has spreaded like wildfire among Chinese intellectuals.

There has never been such a golden opportunity for the evangelization of China in the past five thousand years. Now it is the time that 1.2 billion are thirsting for salvation. Now it is the time that the door for Gospel is wide open. This is the critical moment for the evangelization of the Chinese people.

2. STRENGTHENING OF THE CHINESE CHURCH
The church is the glorious body of Christ. Ministries can be developed through the renewal and equipping of the church. CMI's long term goal is to overcome denominationalism and self-centered-
ness by promoting church renewal and enabling churches worldwide to engage in a cooperative effort for the evangelization of China.

3. CHRISTIANIZATION OF THE CHINESE CULTURE
Chinese culture is at a crossroad. Traditional culture has been demolished and Marxism is now crumbling down. A crisis of faith is keenly felt. People are despondent about the present turmoil and immorality. What can Christianity contribute to the reconstruction of Chinese culture? Chinese Christians face the solemn task of illuminating Chinese culture with Biblical truth, regenerating the Chinese character with new life in Christ and restructuring Chinese thinking with Christian worldview.

China Ministries International affirms the culture mandate as well as the missionary mandate. Because of this, we invest our efforts in research, publication, training and communication to make a Christian impact in Chinese culture.
